VLC joins the community!

Last week, VLC media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/), the
cross-platform open-source multimedia framework, player and server launched
version 1.1.0 on the new SourceForge Downloads (http://sf.net/downloads)
service. Our VP of Product, Jeff Bates (http://twitter.com/hemos), notes,
"We've seen over 3 million downloads from more than 230 countries and
territories. The SourceForge Downloads service has been performing great
and VLC is really enjoying following the stats of their latest release. We
are very happy to help VLC with their downloads and hope to see more
projects taking advantage of this new service."

No unicorns were harmed

At sister site ThinkGeek, the Canned Unicorn Meat
(http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/unicorn-meat.shtml) caused quite a stir
as the lawyers for the National Pork Board sent a twelve-page cease and
desist letter for use of the slogan "the new white meat," which they
observed resembled their slogan "the other white meat." Read more on
